Q: I've never dotted before, do I need to know what I'm doing?
A: All skill levels are welcome. We will have a short introductory workshop both before the cruise and on the first night to learn dot art basics and get some practice. It will be a great experience for new dotters and experienced dotters alike! Everyone is welcome!
Q: I can find a cheaper price for the cruise online, can I book with them and still do the dotting experience?
A: Cruise pricing is dynamic and there are multiple “rate types” in the market at the same time. Some third‑party websites are travel agencies and may be selling cabins from a different contracted group block (often secured earlier), which can display a lower fare than our current group offer. In addition, online agencies may add incentives like onboard credit or reduce their own earnings to win the booking, which can make the deal look cheaper even when the cruise line fare is similar.
To participate in our dot art experience and workshops on this sailing, your cabin must be booked through our designated travel coordinator at the group rate. This is how Royal Caribbean recognizes our group and ties your reservation to our private events.
Booking within the group gives us the minimum number of cabins needed to secure dedicated classroom space, time slots, and setup for our dot workshops, plus any group-only perks we’re able to negotiate (like private gatherings or added amenities). It also keeps everyone on the same reservation list, which makes it much easier for us to communicate updates, manage seating and supplies, and ensure only registered participants are admitted to the events.
In short, the group rate isn’t just about the cabin price, it’s what makes the whole hosted experience (classroom space, coordinated activities, and a smooth group experience) possible for everyone.
Q: Do I need my passport?
A: Passports are highly recommended. Here is what Royal Caribbean suggests for travel: Royal lCarribean Travel Documents. Passports must be valid for 6 months after last day of cruise.
Please understand if you forget documents and do not have the right paperwork, authorities will not make exceptions. Passport is always best.
Q- If I'm bringing a guest, do they need to register for the dotting part of the cruise?
A- Only if they want to! You can bring guests to join you in your cabin but they do not have to join in for the dotting experience if it's not their thing. So feel free to bring a spouse, friend or child to enjoy the ship! Likewise, everyone is welcome so if your guest would like to dot with us, they are welcome to register and join us for that part of the exprience. Anyone participating with us in the dotting experience must pre-register.
Q- What will the weather be like?
A- Daytime in the Bahamas in October is typically in the 80s. Evenings will drop to 72-75 degrees. Humidity is high. Short rain showers can be common, mixed with plenty of sunshine. Light to medium winds while the ship is cruising is common.
On the ship, some areas are open to the weather some are climate controlled/air-conditioned.
Q- What should I bring with me?
A- Pack for vacation fun! Bring your swimsuit, beachwear, and casual clothes. Bring a semi-formal outfit for nicer dining or show experiences.
Please bring your dotting tools (no sharp point tools allowed). We will provide all workshop supplies other than dotting tools.
Power strips, extension cords, surge protectors, and "cube" style multi-outlet adapters are prohibited.
The ship will make accomodations for any medical equipment needed.
Q- Do I have to pay for everything upfront?
A- No you do not. We recommend booking your dotting experience first, followed by your cruise cabins (payment installments can be made until October), then your flights, and a hotel if you decide to come the day before, followed by any add-on experiences. Excursions and add-ons can be added on-board the ship as well, however some may be first come first serve.
Q- Cruises book for double occupancy, what if I'm solo?
A- Cruise rooms book and charge for double occupancy. If you prefer to room alone, you would have to pay the double occupancy. If you would like to possibly be matched with another cruiser to prevent this from happening, please let Amanda (our travel agent) know. You can contact her @ amanda@wowtravelagency.com .
Q- There are so many add-ons. What do I need to have a good experience?
A- Royal Carribean includes plenty of included options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tap water, coffee, tea, and juices are also included. You can spend 4 days on the ship without spending any additional money on food, if you choose. If you are a soda drinker or would like cocktails, you can pay per drink ($4 soda/$8 cocktails) or add-on a beverage package. There are also specialty restauraunts that you can enjoy that cost extra, but many people are satisfied with the included dining options.
Utopia of the Seas and CoCoCay have hundreds of included experiences, many cruisers don't opt to add on any additional charges.
When we stop in Nassau, Bahamas all excursions are an additional charge but are optional as well. We will have a short dotting workshop this day for those who opt-out of excursions. Many cruisers stay and enjoy the ship when they do not book excursions.
Wifi is not included but can be added on if you choose.
