Tara Lynn Pugh has been a mandala maker and workhop facilitator for over a decade. She combines intuition, technique, and a little sparkle into every piece of artwork.
She is inspired by naturally occuring geometry such as sunflower spirals, tree rings, and blooming petals. She is obsessed with symmetry, balance, and the beauty of patterns. She loves working with unexpected color palettes and bright gradients. It is her hope, whether creating with her or viewing her artwork, that your nervous system will unclench and your should relax... and maybe you hear a little whisper that says "stop and look a little longer."
Jenny Long is a self-taught dot mandala artist whose creative journey is as distinctive as the art she creates. After moving to Alaska in 2004, she immersed herself in the outdoor lifestyle and spirit of the North. With her husband, Scott, and their two children, she spent countless hours camping, fishing, boating, and building their family cabin. For nearly three decades, she also served as a public school teacher, bringing the same dedication and creativity to education that she now pours into her art.
In 2020, Jenny’s life changed dramatically when she contracted Covid, which developed into Long Covid and led to her early retirement. Searching for new ways to connect with the land and experiences she loved, she discovered dot mandala art. She approached learning to paint as she has every endeavor in her adult life, with determination, imagination, and an open heart.
Guided by a lifelong commitment to making connections and leaving the world a better place, Jenny’s art is an extension of her values. From years of volunteering, teaching, and coaching, to now adding beauty through her work, she strives to inspire connection and joy. Her unique pieces reflect Alaska’s vast wilderness and wildlife. Each of her ornaments is finished with repurposed fishing line used by Jenny’s family in Alaskan waters, creating a meaningful connection between her art, her story, and the land that inspires it.
Through her small business, DotalongAK, Jenny shares her art with Alaskans, wildlife enthusiasts, and the millions of visitors who travel to the state each year. She hopes her work invites others to journey alongside her and experience the resilience, wonder, and beauty of Alaska found in every dot.
Tara Wenzel is a self-taught artist and paint maker, who accidentally started a whole art business in 2020 while the world was shut down. What began as painting at her dad’s dining room table during COVID quickly turned into a creative obsession and eventually into Deserted Bliss, a desert-inspired art brand fueled by curiosity, color, and a refusal to follow the “normal” way of doing things.
From her Arizona studio, Tara specializes in dreamy dot-art landscapes, mandalas, and richly textured pieces that often make people pause and ask, “Wait… how did you do that?” Her work blends desert tones and tactile finishes, creating pieces that feel both calming and a little bit magical. , while also being chaotic ;)
But painting was only the beginning. Driven by curiosity and a love of experimentation, Tara began formulating her own handmade paints, testing pigments, binders, and textures until she created materials that behaved exactly how she wanted. That process eventually grew into a signature line of handmade paints specifically for artists who love depth, sparkle, and unique finishes.
When she’s not painting, Tara is usually in full experiment mode — mixing colors, testing new materials, designing tools, or dreaming up the next idea that probably shouldn’t work… but somehow does.
Through her work and her brand, Tara’s mission is simple: to make art feel magical, approachable, and just a little bit addictive — the kind of creative escape that reminds people they don’t need permission to start.
